Hello,
I was wondering if there is anyone you could possibly give me some advice on finding an old horse. When I was 18 (2007-8) I looked after and trained a chestnut dutch warmblood mare for a friend, she was approx 16hh and called Corlino D. When it came to my time to go to university I helped the owner sell her, we found a home but unfortunately she came up very slightly lame on vetting and was found to a have the beginnings of navicular. To cut a long and painful story short, rather than shoot her the owner sold her to a dealer for pittance.
She was the best horse I ever sat on, sweet, loving and a very good doer who easily worked up to Medium level dressage; it breaks me up every night that I do not know where she is and even if she has been put down I would like to know so I can get some closure.
She was pink papered; is there anyway to track her? I think there is a chance she is in Scotland because some new owners registered her there a few years ago. My only other experience of these things is with British Native pony societies; who keep fabulous records of their ponies and recently helped me find my original pony who is happy and well.
I would ask the lady that owned her but I would rather not stir up old skeletons unless absolutely necessary.
Many Thanks in advance,
Clare
