I am based near Sherborne and am desperate for somewhere to canter my horse. We have a few bridle ways but no where that is a long enough stretch for him to really get into his stride and have a good blow.

The stopping and starting for gates etc is driving crazy and I just wondered if any local people on here knew of anywhere it might be possible. I have a lorry and don't mind a bit of a drive to the right spot.

I used to live in Sherborne and if it isn't flooded and boggy there are too many gates or it's only a short stretch, drove me nuts too! I lost it but I did buy an OS map which details all the bridlepaths, I then used Google Earth to have a better look at them, but then I moved!! It's not a massive drive but there are some amazing bridlepaths in the Piddle Valley (Piddletrenthide and Piddlehinton) and also around Cerne Abbas with good hill work thrown in as well. I'd really recommend getting an OS map though.
