Hi all, i purchased a lovely little horse from the sales last year, he came from a not very nice horse dealer and was in an awful state (i felt sorry for him thats why i bought him!) bad feet, completely emaciated, heamatomas, cuts and wounds everywhere! he was so scared he use to just attack everyone (i still own the scars). He is a lovely friendly lad now and i wanted to know if anyone else on here has anything related to him and what they are like out of interest! or if you have any previous history on my lad! ive googled loads and found loads he is quite well bred etc so just wanted to hear from people with the not so famous horses that i havnt found! His sire is...white hawk wind is his hair, his dam is... white hawk lemon, he is related to likes of.....rodeago tobias, cow bitch, spotty dot com, zee hawk etc and somewhere along the lines the queens best racehorse (cant rem name now!) my lads name is white hawk yellow stone he is a (nearly) 3yo, few spot allthough his foals pics shows he use to have a couple lemon markings with few spot and he was bred by j a naish from nailsea, north somerset. Thanks all!! :-)

Hi,

I have a mare that is related to your horse - sire is White Hawk Wind in his hair, from the same breeder, and brought in a similar state! If you have any info on the breeding (you seem to know more than me so far..!) would love to know more about her! :-)

We have your boys full sister, although she is only two. We collected her as raw 7 month old foal.

Cracking big filly Lemon and white, White Hawk Champagne. These guys can certainly move and jump! Our girl thinks nothing of popping over the five bar gate between fields. :):)

All the youngsters are reared in a big herd so not handled much until weaning, but usually tame up really well. The are bloody tough and don't think anything of a cold winter!

Let me know how your boy gets on?!

Heya, I know this was a while ago, but did you all buy your horses from the breeder or someone else? I am looking to buy one but am cautious as to what they are like. Any oppinions/views and what are they're temprements & handling like?

KCoop and MissA, I've just bought a 4yr old gelding by Whitehawk Wind in his hair. We think he's been ear twitched in the past and you cannot get anywhere near his ears, this combined with the fact that he's very nervous, suggests he's had a bad start! Checked his passport and he was bred by the same breeder as yours. How are you getting on now with your ponies now? Any update apprecaited.

Jeekajuice - I've recently sold my 2yo - no fault of his own I couldn't afford him, but that sounds exactly the same as mine was... Nervous and wouldn't let you touch between his ears... I thought it was just his temprement... Are you having issues with yours?

He did get much better but he was 1 year old, I never really thought about it being the handling - I like to think the best of people, but it does make you wonder... Lots of handling in short bursts, loads of rewarding etc :)

Hi have bought a couple of Whitehawk horses directly from the breeder and i have had no problems what so ever. I have found them brilliant to work with a good brain and have been brilliant horses which my children have thoroughly enjoyed.

A girl on my yard bought a White Hawk 2 year old gelding direct from the breeders earlier this year and he is proving to be a total superstar. From what I've heard, the breeders sound like totally decent people so it's well worth getting in touch with them if you're after a spotty or coloured :)

I went to look at a couple of 2 yr olds at the breeders yard in Nailsea - they are lovely, they took us indoors and showed us all the breeding history, bought the 2 we were looking at in so we could see them properly, then took them out to the school so we could see them move, they are really nice people and the horses looked well, im sure they would tell you all you need to know :)

Is the stallion licensed with BAPS? I ask because if he is not, then the foals will not be elligle for main register, also the scheme with BAPS ensures that the stallions are PSSM free, which I presume this one is not guaranteed to be?

Hi there I know that the last post was a while ago but I wanted to add my experience of whitehawk spotted horses. My partner and I brought Whitehawk Troy at the beginning of September 2012. The breeders are lovely people. They showed us two one who was by Wind in his Hair and the other was by Toby of Whitehawk. The breeder explained in detail the difference in the stallions and what type of young stock they produce. We brought the 2 year old by Toby of whitehawk as he was a very laid back nature with a good brain. Neither of the 2year olds were previously handled other than to be gelded so they were nervous. Since having Troy at home he is the BEST and easiest horse I've ever had. He lives out but is handled everyday by myself and my partner. He is incredibly laid back and is such a joy to own! I can't wait to break him in! I would definitely recommend anyone to buy from whitehawk spotted horses and believe that the other posts about them being in an awful state must have happened once they were sold from the breeders. I hope this helps any future potential buyers from whitehawk!

Foxtrot1 I too have a mare who is the full sister your one, (whitehawk dun a deal) , you love to know what she is like in comparison to mine? 😊

My mother in law has just bought a Colt from them (should arrive in the next month or so). He'll be about 6-7 months old and pretty unhandled. Can't wait to meet him - and hopefully he will grow into the wonderful horse you are all describing (especially as I will be his main rider!!)
Dam is Toby of Whitehawk (Rodega Tobias) and the sire is a knabstrupper called Klaudius.
