Hi I am looking to move to the Raf wittering base to to live with my partner, however need to find somewhere for my horse. Am looking for DIY as cant afford part or full plus see the whole point of having a horse is to enjoy time looking after them.

Have few small issues tho he is quite big (17h) so ideally would like big stables and also I believe he was cut late as can be quite a pain if turned out with other horses (chasing around, getting over familiar) however he will settle if given enough time!

Basically just woundering if anyone knows of any livery yards around the wittering area?

Sorry that became a long post LOL many thanks in advance

Ellie

Wittering Grange is right next door to you and is huge. Grange farm equestrian I think is the website but just google it. There is another yard ten minutes from you cross leys farm but that usually has a waiting list.

I am a few villages away, there are other members on here who are based at Wittering. It has amazing facilities and off road hacking. It literally butts on to RAF Wittering. Wittering is basically in a triangle between the A1, A43 and A47, the Cross Leys yard is just off the A47 - I have never been there but have heard very good reviews. Wittering Grange was a riding stables years ago and I rode there as a child but we are talking twenty years ago! Apart from a few side saddle lessons about 12 yrs ago I haven't been back there. I am currently horseless but kept my last boy at a yard in Barnack - only five mins from Wittering but wrong side of A1 for you which is a nightmare at rush hour.

Pm me when you move if you need any area info :)

Try Cross Leys then, my yard at Barnack was behind the welliboots.com shop - owner is Harry Brassey, nice small yard. There are lots over Kings Cliffe way (ten mins) but I don't know them personally.

There is one to avoid at all costs which I will pm you with.
