Hello all! Can anybody please help..
Im looking around for livery in leicester preferably in the loughborough region (currently in Barrow upon soar)

The only things i need are:

Indoor school or big outdoor with good suface and lighting, that does not flood or freeze.
Hay/haylage available
Large stables, preferably indoor ones
Turnout during summer and at least 2 hours in winter
Lorry parking
Secure tackroom
Nice yard owner and liveries would be a bonus!!

Ive already seen the ones that you can find easily on the web.

Im ideally looking for a competition type yard although im really not that fussed as long as the facilities are good!
Im going insane from searching so im really hoping for some recomendations, and also prices of the places if you know them

Thanks robthecob, i will look into that one, i think i might be a little far out but worth a try! I know there are lots of smaller yards around but its impossible to know anything of them as they arent advertised.

It is a journey away, i work in
Birmingham though which makesit more do-able.

How about Canaan farm or I always drive past a place called
Home farm out that way. I was in Riseholme feeds sat and there were loads of adverts up so could be a good place to start x

Have you tried the Wymeswold one? Field Farm Equestrian. Proper competition yard looks very nice! (there's a website)

I live in the Barrow area and there is a proper shortage of really nice places to stable. Have you tried Barrow View? Do they still have an indoor? It was pretty rubbish 12 years ago but could've been updated with new owners. I was always quite curious about Cream Lodge (on the same road) never advertised and i don't think they livery but i'm sure I spied some really nice facilities when i hacked past many many moons ago

There's Canaan Farm - not comp yard but do have indoor school? Bunny Equestrian is over that way as well. Tangle Tree stables in Newtown Linford (massive stables, outdoor which isn't freeze proof but they do have a horse walker and all year turnout - pm me for more details as i've stabled there)

There's a place in East Leake near to Riseholme tack/feed shop - looks gorgeous but i've no idea about facilities there. Walton Lodge, full livery only which is on the outskirts of Barrow (usually advertised in the Charnwood Tails) towards the cotes area - great hacking.

I'm at Blaby with Robthecob and it is a brilliant place to be but there is a waiting list and the hacking isn't great at all - plus it's miles away!

Competition yards are few and far to come between, obviously there's the obvious like Bunny and Markfield equestrian centre but it depends on whether you want to go to a riding school or not.

Hope that helps? I've done a lot of research on this myself as i would prefer to stable nearer to home but there aren't many places that have facilities and do DIY. :)

There's also Meadow School of Riding (based nr Beacon Hill) but i can't work out whether they do livery there or not....would be a gorgeous place to stay though! :)

It might be worth a trip out to Cooke's Farm Shop, at Field Head/Markfield. There used to be lots of adverts up, for livery.

There was a livery yard in Woodhouse Eves, but I can't remember what it was called or what the facilities were like...

Found this though... http://elmsfarmltd.co.uk/ and http://www.fieldfarmcrosscountry.co.uk/index.htm

I think the only one in Woodhouse is Meadow School of riding, don't want to post the lane it's on but the hacking there would be fabalooose! :)

I used to keep horse in swithland which was excellent for hacking but not so good facilities. Great value though. :)

Tangle Tree stables is virtually next door to Cooks Farm shop :)

My neighbour runs a livery. Unsure of complete facilities but v near BoS its called walton lodge stables off walton lane. Maybe that would suit you? We have access to fab bridleways as you probs already know! :)

Ive tried all of these places, im currently at cream lodge (thats the house name but the yard is willowbank farm) she doesnt advertise but theres space for 2 horses if u were to go down there. Really good facilities huge indoor schoold with huge outdoor, horsewalker and very nice stables however no witer turnout which is the only reason im looking around as my boy goes off his rocker. Its rather strict comp yard with highly strung dressage and sj people lol! but it might be fine for some. I used to be at barrow view but left for uni i might see if they will take me back or not haha! thanks everyone for your suggestions, im looking into elms farm at the minute but im not keen on the outdoor, oh how much easier my life would be if i wasnt so picky! :o

Thanks everyone for your help, ive looked at walton lodge but i dont want full livery. Ive noted down a few others and im off to research! I dont particulalry want to move as my yard is fab apart from strict rules and no winter turnout :( its so stressful!

I knew creamlodge was a posh place! I just knew it! :D I wouldn't keep the Pooj in all yr winter either, she's a filth monger anyway and it's too important she gets down time herself. I would never go back to a place without all year turnout after stabling at Barrow View and having to do it there. Horrible!

Once you get spoiled by an indoor that's it, you never want to leave! I hate the hacking at Blaby but the indoor and the good people there are so precious. Been to sooo many places where the people spoil it that i would have to find a really special place to make me move again. :)

Good luck in the search and let me know if you find that perfect place :o
