Hi everyone

I've recently bought my first horse and I'm looking for a nice livery yard that has good facilities in and around the chigwell area. I'm hoping for an indoor menage and good size stables with some winter turnout. Does anyone know of any you can recommend that I can go check out?

Thanks xx

The only one I know that has an indoor school is Forest Farm Nick Sully runs it, the turnout is not great but has great facilities although its not everyones cup of tea, outside of Chigwell not too far is Brook Farm in Stapleford Abbotts they have an indoor and turnout in summer not sure about winter, the Water tower just down the road is a nice yard with an outdoor school but great turnout, there is Brownings Farm in Chigwell not sure if they have an indoor and never been there so cant help with that one.

There is another that is right on Hainault forest but I cant remember the name will try and remember for you.

Thanks for your message, I was at forest farm for about a month and moved to private stables where I am at the moment I do regret leaving Nicks place it did have good facilities but I wasn't allowed my own instructor and fields were a bit bare. Where is the Water Tower? I haven't heard of it but it sounds good though

I used to be at Nicks a few years back we left because of the turnout, miss his lovely schools though:( do you know where the Orange Tree pub is in Havering Atte Bower? Its just up the road from there opposite the cricket field my friend works at Orange tree yard behind the pub which is owned by the water tower if you can find that go in and they will show you where to go, the other place is Bower farm in Hainault I was thinking of.

Bower farm is havering Atte bower really but it backs onto hainault forest the entrance is next to the church near the riding school, its a really long single track road all the way down to it, if you want to look at water tower I can pm you my friends number who works for them she will have there number.

I dont miss carrying haynets in laundry bags and a mile hike to the muck heap though lol:)
