Hi guys,

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who is moving back to the area and looking for 2 livery spaces in Shropshire, ideally around Shifnal /Kemberton /Sherrifhales but has said she would also look at Newport, Wolverhampton and out towards Weston Park.

Prospective yards must have good turnout in summer and winter, preferably 24/7 for the oldie if possible, and turnout in pairs or groups (ie not forced to have individual turnout in tiny paddocks). Also looking for decent facilities (arena that is well maintained and floodlit with jumps, horse walker would be nice but not essential, fields and fencing that is looked after), a helpful and knowledgeable YO, and good hacking.

Please don't shout at me if you think it's too much to ask, it isn't my list! If anyone can suggest anywhere that may be suitable, let me know and I'll pass them all on. Thanks for your help :)

I can second Jane.

Also a small friendly yard in Newport...HUNTER/SCHOOLING livery £120 per week, Full livery £90 per week , part livery £65 per week, DIY £35 per week including haylage and use of facilities....(horse walker, all weather menage and x-country course), Grass livery £20 per week. Discounts for more than one horse. Always help a...t hand and 24 hour security. Nothing to do with me however I have seen the advert locally and might be worth a try.

Have they been to look around Telford Equestrian Centre?

Has it changed from how it used to be? It's never been somewhere I would keep a horse and I would imagine she'd feel the same. It always used to be huge groups for turnout which isn't going to suit an oldie that needs a quieter time of it, or really be that great for her other horse (baby horse). Also too many kids at TEC I suspect.

I went there about a year ago to do their HT and the people who run it are horrible so I wouldn't recommend it to her...

Thanks for this :)

1st off I'm going to say stay well clear of Telford equestrian. I have a friend at wardie's and she loves it been there a few time at it seems really good. I'm at ashwood livery about 15mins outside Newport & can highly recommend it. Excellent facilities & everyone is really nice there. Think it's £35 DIY, £65 part, £100 full all Inc haylage.

+ the yard in Newport, according to the person who moves my horse that yard is not that good, owned by someone who doesn't care about horses just wanting to make money. Can't guarantee the accuracy of this but I'd be cautious of it, she knows what she's taking about.
Also could try long lane livery, looked at it a couple of years ago & seemed really nice there.

OK, thanks :) Will pass this all one.

Kingswood Equestrian Centre? I'm fairly new to the area so only really know the big ones.

I've been told that Oaken Lawn Farm near Codsall is OK and Wardie's Livery just off the A5 is very good.

Bump. Anyone know about the yards in Kemberton?

Also I think Albrighton could be feasible... anything over that way?

There is Kemberton Riding Stables & Stud. Lovely yard, knowledgable kind poeple, good hacking, outdoor school. Not the cheapest as no DIY only part and full but you get value for money.

I'm local to these guys, Kingswood is a pretty high level place, no idea of cost but would guess its not the cheapest. They do hold comps and clinics though, facilities are top notch.
Oaken Lawn - not sure if this is still open?
Park Farm, just off the A41 has vacancies, but don't think it would meet all that is listed in the 'wants' list.
John Brindleys yard (next to Kingswood) is very popular, but always a waiting list, and always heard good feedback. (Oaken Park Farm, County Lane)
