I am re-locating into Durham not going a million miles from where I am at moment but wanting to know of any good yards in the South Durham area. DIY, but dont mind paying for part livery with decent off road hacking not really into schooling but a school would be handy for winter. Indoor or outdoor stabling not bothered. Prefer decent turnout over facility as long as it is fairly unrestricted.

Have been given details of places near to Bishop Auckland but too far away for travelling to work etc. Prefer word of mouth as been really happy at current yard and wanting to find somewhere as nice if possible!!!

Is it round Bishop you are wanting or further south than that?
I'm in Durham City itself so prob not the area you are looking for but I'll try to help if I can.

Thanks Guys

Will be working in Durham but will be living near Spennymoor - have decided Bishop is will be too far away to travel and then to work so would ideally be as close to home as possible and not adding too much on for travelling in to Durham.

I was not looking at anything in Durham as thought the hacking might be limited?? Thanks FoxFolly but think you will be too far south to be practical.

If you'd consider livery in Durham then I would have a look at Ingrids on the Plawsworth estate as there is miles and miles of off road hacking and most of the yards on the estate have access to a school. It's the opposite side of Durham to the way you are travelling in and out though.
The only yard I can think of between Spenny and Durham is along the road from the Thinford roundabout (but not Thinford itself) but I expect the hacking would be appalling as its on quite a busy road.

Fully agree with ann-jen- I'm on one of ingrids yards and the hacking is absolutely fab. I think all the yards have access to the arenas that I know of. The whole set up is really well run aswell.
