After losing my old broken boy to colic 2 weeks ago I'm on the hunt for a new best friend.
I've not bought a horse in the traditional way before so feeling very clueless.

Does anyone have any recommendations of dealers etc in the north west? Ideally don't wan't to travel more than 2 hours from Manchester.
I'm looking for something 15.2-16.2 under 10 to do a bit of everything with. My riding is a little rusty as have only been able to walk hack for the past few years.
Happy to take something green as long as its not nasty.

I've been looking on Facebook, horse quest, preloved and horse mart so far. Budget absolutely no more than 7.5k (ideally less)

Just super confused and no idea where to start or what to ask or anything!

Sorry for your loss. I've no personal experience, but I have heard good things about Joanne Shaw, Levi Critchlow is a friend of a friend (sort of) and as far as I know is ok. I don't think she operates now but ELS equine was pretty straight, she might be able to point you in the right direction perhaps

Firstly make a list of everything you want from your new horse and then make up a wanted posts for the local Horsey Facebook Pages, and also put up Wanted Posters at Feed Merchants/Tack Shops and ask local Riding Club/Pony Clubs Farriers and Vets to keep an eye out for you. Whatever you do get it vetted and always take someone else with you to the viewings to witness what has been said.

Completely agree with this.

I have a lot of friends who have bought happily from Right Rides. I've heard nothing but good things, even from those for who the new horse didn't work out. A local RS used to buy from them.

Thanks for your suggestions I will take a look through them all?
Struggling to find anything really suitable for my modest budget, hoping prices may drop even a little in the near future
