Hi there,
Does anyone know of any quiet private or livery yard that would have space for a 15.1 retired gelding and friendly owner?
Moving in just over a month and desperate to find somewhere lovely for him!
I'm based in Hinton and work in Aztec North West of Bristol, so anywhere middle or north of Bristol and Bath or commutable within 20 mins would be great
Any thought much appreciated! :D:D:D

Hi
I keep my horse at a small well run yard called Elmsleigh Livery yard on Cribbs Causeway just past the Shell petrol station. 24 hr turn out in summer and daily turn out in winter. Stables are well maintained as is the grazing.
Hope this helps and hope you find somewhere...:)

Westerleigh Stables might be suitable, if you want posh it's not that but quiet - currently has 7 geldings, some retired. DIY livery, 24/7 turnout in summer if you want it, in at night in the winter.

Hi,
Some are nice some are horrific!
Golden valley in wick is lovely.
Hinton dressage is lovely fab facilities, Mr. wilson is lovely and very professional yard but may not suit. Hamswell- dr.wartons owns this lovlt hacking beautiful place.

Avoid Avoid avoid David bishops at toghill farm. From what I hear he likes his ' lady customers' and was actually done for kicking a lady client about 2 years ago by the police- this is fact! Not a very nice place at all, had a friend there who was at the yard at the time and told me to avoid like the plague :-(

Wow ok!! Thank you for the heads up on Toghill Farm!

I have looked at Hinton dressage and it looks fabulous, but probably more than I need at the moment now my boy is retired, but Hamswels sounds lovely?

Westerleigh Stables sounds like it could work well! I don't mind a non posh yard as long as the people are nice! Whereabouts is is?

Will look into Elmsleigh too,

Thanks everyone!

Really helpful!

I second Westerleigh Stables as being good for a retired horse. Used to be there a few years ago. It's in Westerleigh which is not far at all from Hinton. They have a website which I think comes up if you google them. :)
