My lovely 25 year old TC x Shire gelding has been retired from work for a year or so and is on DIY livery in a paddock by himself (that is how it works where we are, owners get a paddock and I lost my 31 yo mare who was his companion a couple of years ago). Standing in his field at 7pm last Friday, about to poo pick by headtorch and realising that he got about 30 minutes of my time most visits, I decided that he might prefer retirement livery as he loves being part of a herd and is usually the ringleader when they have a quick zoom round. Any recommendations? He is a good doer and lives out 24/7. I'd love him to close enough that I can visit sometimes but most important is finding the right place for him.
