Hello ladies,
I am hoping some of you kind people would help me by giving me a bit of advice?
I am looking into the practicalities and costs of purchasing a horse. Im not a total beginner but I have been out of the game a LONG time (almost 11 years). I have owned horses for quite a few years as a teenager but as I got older and got a boring mortgage my hobby had to go.
Now Im in a position to start looking at getting back in the saddle. In the future Im going to visit some riding schools and start having some lessons and see if Im still up to it!
My questions are
Im currently living in Mickleover Derby. Does anyone know of any good liveries in the area? I know of Barley Fields but I would prefer DIY if possible and I think they offer full livery.
Secondly I was wondering how much things like livery, hay, straw/shaving, shoes etc cost these days?
Im pretty sure its going to be more expensive then it was 10 years ago so would just like to make sure my estimations are realistic. Im making myself feel very old here but Im also very excited. Once you have the horse bug it never really goes away.
Any info will be gratefully received. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. xxx
