Hi I'm looking for a stable in Rochford/Southend areas for my 15.2 gelding.

Ideally want DIY but somewhere that also does services as I work long hours and may need him bringing in during the winter.

Needs to have all year turnout, don't mind the odd day in but definitely cannot be doing weeks/months at a time!!

Does anyone know of anywhere suitable??

I have considered them in the past but turnout is not guaranteed over the winter and I heard they stopped it from November last year for couple of months so not ideal.

I think you'll find that everywhere with the winter we've just endured. They were in for quite a while, about three weeks, then out for a few days, then in again!

i have one horse (my daughters) near south woodham ferrers and mine near chelmsford and neither had any enforced days in, in fact my daughters lived out at night as normal all winter.

if turnout is important to you you just have to be picky

I know of a couple of places this way that are out all year but either part livery or no services. One guy I asked didn't seem to understand the thought of keeping them in lol he did have 500 acres tho just no one to do services which is shame as the yard was amazing.

Turnout very important as when I first got him the yard I was at told me they had all year turnout and we ended up in solidly for 2 months before I moved him. They even stopped us using the school so were literally just walking round the yard!! He was so good considering he's quite young but he was so bored and said I won't put him through it again.

Will have to keep looking!!

Can't help with area, but what I have done in the past is use a freelance groom, so you can be on a basic yard with no services but "buy in" services as needed. Just a thought anyway :) my yard has no services offered although liveries help each other out but I used to pay a good freelance to do regular help for me. The yard was cheap so although the services of a freelance were slightly more it was no more expensive overall

i do freelance but would depend where the yard is, i would be interested in the yard too possibly

It's in stambridge. It's a really lovely yard, I'm going back again tomorrow and think might just go for it and worry about winter turnout later. I can find out if they got any other stables available if interested?
