I have booked a hotel in chumleigh north Devon for two days and are looking for two full day ride outs begining nov
Does anyone have any suggestions. We have similar in Wales where we ride out to a pub and back taking in about five hours. Prices seem an awful lot higher in Devon so any suggestions. Father and daughter riders age 51 and 26

I have just come back from a cottage holiday 2 miles outside of Chumleigh! Which hotel are u staying in? We had dinner in both in the town. If it's the Courthouse the landlord Sam is really friendly and maybe able to recommend somewhere as he knows everything about the area. There were quite a few stables in the area and on the 2nd October there's a guided ride out on exmoor but do you think I can remember the names of any of the places? No, sorry!

Hope u have a lovely time it's a gorgeous area :-)

Go to Outavercott Riding Stables: think that's how you spell it, its at a place called "Dean Steep" which is quite near Lynton/Lynmouth.

I had a lovely time riding out from there; they're a family-run set-up and I can't recommend them highly enough. They'll tailor your ride so you're not tailing along with novices if you don't want to be - I had a super little mare TB x shire and she was fantastic! Wanted to take her home.

This place can't be bettered IME.

With Outovercott and Brendon Manor Stables you go straight out onto Exmoor with minimal roadwork, rides are tailored to your experience.

For beach rides, Roylands at Croyde is great.

These 3 stables are well established, family run businesses, I would recommend all 3.
