Hello,
As a few of you will know I had to have my old welsh C pony pts on July 12th this year after owning her for 27yrs ( she was 29)
Me and my mother have 5 acres, various stables and shelters and now a field full of grass! So we have decided to look for up to 2 youngsters that can live out in the bottom meadow with the shelter.
My question is where are the best bargains found ?
We are looking for anything between 6 mts and 4 yrs ( welsh C or D ) but native if not.
To make between 13.2 and 14.2 so me and mum can both ride when the time comes.
The cost needs to be as low as possible as I have just finished paying the vets fees for the old pony.
Oh nearly forgot North West ( Lancashire )

I know some of you are soo good at finding horses and searching for bargains... Please help I hate seeing the empty stables :O)

I have a Connemara pony I'm just about to advertise sadly :( he's 3 years old and currently 13hh but will make 13.2hh plus. Gorgeous steel grey gelding with the sweetest of natures! Sadly I am in Kent though so rather far away. I'm constantly coming across some loving native youngsters for very good prices so if I spot any further up your way I will send you the link!

Look for breeders in your area - they usually have youngstock priced sensibly.

Could also try York sale - have been some really nice native youngstock going for a pittance over the last few months.

Preloved.

I had a quick look on there the other day and was horrified by the huge amount of cheap youngstock for sale in my area (coloured foals £75). Some of them were very nice too but they were priced higher, still cheap for what they were however.

Bert the frog -I was planning on York sales if I dont find anything before 9th Sept, I have called 2 breeders that I know but both want silly prices even for foals.

Faracat - I will have another hunt on preloved, I just find it hard work trailing through all the adds, more patience needed I think ;o)

Charla - yours sounds lovely shame your not closer.

I still have Denny and Lottie but I did not realise how much grass the old mare (Tammy) must have eaten I have more grass than I thought, and also mum loves working with the youngsters and its so sad seeing the old girls stable empty :O(

I have a very very nice 2 year old sec D partbred for sale, but he should make about 15.1hh so may grow a bit big for you. He's a class horse both in temperament and looks! pm me if you do want details. Otherwise you could try the welsh foal sales, I think they are in november? you should be able to pick up a couple of youngsters quite easily there, I'd also check out the rescues as I was looking on the rspca and whw website the other night and noticed they had alot of youngsters in at the moment, though you won't get particular bloodlines that way, you'll still get a nice ponio! Also look on adhorse, they have alot of youngsters advertised.

Where abouts in Lancs are you?

Im in Lancs too :D and Im looking for a Section B/C but have got the contact details of some nice D's, but the owners want them sold as locally as possible - if that makes sense.

Horse gossip is good for ponies too :)

Preloved is okay, but I find most the ponies in Lancs over-priced.

How about Dragon Driving?

ETS: Sorry for my awful spelling :o

ABC cheers forgot about dragon driving and cobs, I already have a little 2yr old coloured welsh x cob but never thought of cobs I may have to extend the search to include cobs too.
I would be happy with a section D youngster but would need to be a good price.
please pm me if you have any contact details.
Thanks again :O)
