Happy happy because 2 reasons:

So delighted, just had this guy out who travels from Europe he is a equine vet who specialise in muscles and Skeleton type bits and bobs (I can't remember exact term :D)

He seen Ludo back in Sept last year and he found his to be sore etc I was having major saddle problems

Anyway he just came to see him said he can't find anything at all and that he thinks for his age he in super shape (he just turned 6) which to hear is fab as I've struggle with weight and muscle and I'm always worried he looks thin , he said keep up the good work

And

On Saturday we went and bagged our 1st double clear in the BN, that's our 3rd BN class

Soooo chuft

That my horse looking well and we finally gelling as a team after our rough start

Here is a photo of him last night , and one from the BS at the weekend - do you think his condition looks good, not under weight.??

I've had a bad few weeks with other stuff and finally something to be be pleased about

What a pop in that first pic! I am a complete novice but he doesn't look underweight to me - looks nice and lean and muscly. Lovely horsey:)

No I don't think he looks underweight with the warm weather coming ( lets hope) it gets easier for them to gain and keep condition .
They are lovely pictures you should be very proud and happy.
My project is off XC schooling on Monday to the scene of one of his crimes before I bought him .
Monday will tell me a lot about were we are I have a pro to ride him i am producing him from home though ,i am taking my driving cob to watch the fun on ( he will look silly at a schooling day at a BE course)
Let's hope I am as happy on Monday night as you are.
Worth all the work and heartache and pain for days like that isn't it.

Thanks

Goldenstar, make sure you update us on how things go for you and your horsey.

i have all my fingers and toes crossed for you that things come good for you in the end like they have for me which, because you also seeked correct help im pretty sure it will :D

i think he looks fit rather than thin, i do think he needs more muscle, esp on his bum, i think his bum looks weak still, do you agree..?

Thanks

Not exactly weak but there is room for him to muscle up some more. I'd like to see another pic in a few weeks. I bet he'll be a better shape then.

He's a big horse and still young it takes time , I would expect as he ages he will hold wieght better.he will definatly build up more .
I would not be worrying its the stage he's at.

He is lovely! My kind of breeding too ;)

I wouldn't say he's underweight as such, I think its a case of he's still growing maybe?

I struggled with my 5yr old KWPN to keep weight on him, he would just be looking nice them BOOM he'd go back looking "thin" again :( but once he hit 7 he just beefed out all of a sudden, and now he's a big fatty! :D

Might just be a case of being a late developer like mine, but he still looks FIT! :D

Thanks RCP yeah that's like him he looks good then bam looks all thin and gangly again and so it repeats , he defo still growing and has heaps of filling out to do.

He also lacked muscle too but I think it's starting to come on slowly, his work load has ramped up this last few months he now ridden 6 days mix of flat/sj and hacking

I'm really hoping to up the hacking now summer is nearly hear, some nice long slow summer hacks - bliss :D

I think this is the case with most warmbloods and its just a case of waiting until they've finished growing! As long as they're happy and continue to do what they do they will eventually fit in to their big muscley bodies :D

I wish hacking was bliss for me! Its more like a white knuckle ride with my agoraphobic horse!! :D

Ha ha no my lad is good to hack most of the time, odd spook that's about it. He pretty chilled out - thankfully. :D
