Seems very difficult to find a nice cat-friendly dog to adopt - anyone any ideas where to look? We can offer a lovely farm home with plenty of exercise, 2 Siamese dog-friendly cats for company and a nice warm fire to curl up in front of and lots of love!!!

We dont have a particularly large house so dont want a big dog - and would be happier to rehome an older one. We are also first time dog owners so cant take on anything with issues. Are we asking too much?

Hi Caila - not sure really - am rather partial to whippets - where I keep the horse is full of dogs and I've become quite fond of the lot of them - none for rehoming unfrotunately!! Lol! And I'd love something to come up to the horse with me, take for long walks, but house not massive so really doesnt need to be any bigger than whippet size-ish. But the cat-friendly bit is the all important stumbling block. Have possibly heard of a collie (and belongs to a friend's friend so I know she's genuine) but always heard they are a bit neurotic. Any ideas?

What about a lazy lurcher

I have just rehomed a collie, they are natural herders, so chance it could herd the cats, but then could completely ignore them, u never know really, depending on the colli, they can be fab and laid back or neurotic with all the usual traits

I just rehomed a nice collie bitch, she was herding slightly but nothing to bad, otherwise she was good, and I got her cat trained in no time.
im not a collie person though, I must say

Hi Caila do you want to PM me? Perhaps you might have something we could give a home to. Yes lurchers are lovely - we did find one in the local cat & dog sanctuary but it went. As long as they're not tooooo big!!!!
