looking to buy an ex-racehorse in yorkshire

Best thing to do is to contact local race horse trainers as they often have ones for sale that don't make the grade or have had to retire early. I always think it is better to buy the horses that dont make the grade (which are usualy 3/4 years) rather than those who have been raced as they do not have the wear and tear on their limbs which is an advantage and they are often cheaper than those that have raced :)

I know mel brittain sends his 'failed' flat horses to york horse sales. generally end up priced between 400 and 800 pounds. mostly 2/3/4 yo's so not tons of mileage. I have had a couple....one pot eventer....got ready to go and sadly had a field injury so has become a brood mare. and the second was bought as a 6 week project with a 1k profit in the end.

his are sold under the name northgate lodge stud.

go on 'source an ex-racehorse'' .. i found it tonight on google. have several for £750. mostly 3,4,5,6yr olds. have two big ones on there too. 17h and 16.3h. adverts from all over uk.
