my poor yearling has got sweetich, but why would she have circles of bold patches on her withers to. do u think its somthing else, the vet says shes been bit by flys and midges and it will grow back, but it looks vile , and she looks unkept. i thought sweetich was just on there mains and tails...

sounds like it could be ringworm, highly contagious, get it checked asap and quarantine. not harmful to her but as i said very contagious, check everyone / everything else and take all clothes off outside of house and boil wash everything incl towels etc. let us know?

sounds like ringworm to me as well, but surely the vet would have recognised it? if not it could be fly bites, i know this year they have been particularly bad and they do come up as big round swellings it could be possible that as they are healing they go scabby and the hair falls out? would def check for ringworm first tho!

thanx, i think it ringworm to, vet only said ova the phone but she said if the hair dont grow bk in 3 weeks she will visit, thats a long time so im going to call her out 2day, will let u no . xx

Our cob who suffers from sweetitch gets bald areas on his withers, it's where he manages to rub when he is on his back in the field.

sweetitch can be anywhere, when my sweetitch pony gets realy bad he does all down his neck all down his back, his tail his bum, his belly, his face and occasionly he starts attacking his own legs.

i would get the vet up anyway
