Does anyone else look at these and just think fancy mane plaiting bands??

House filled with them after visit from my 5 year old niece. May stick them in the lorry as emergency plaiting bands :)

OH's GD is taking 'oss to camp tomorrow and said if she runs out of plaiting bands she will use her loom bands! :D

Colourful if nowt else... :p

My niece wanted to make me a bracelet. I said I wanted a trendy monochrome black and white one. Nothing to do with the fact that I own a grey and a bay horse and I was thinking what could I do with it when she had gone. Ended up with a pink, white and purple one ... :)

When I first saw loom bands I thought that they'd make wicked plaiting bands :') was a little confused as to why they were in Claire's Accessories tbh :D

I brought some blue ones to use as funky plaiting bands! When I went away in the horsebox last week I used my actual black and white plaiting bands to show my mum how to make a loom band! Both are multi purpose.

I've heard they are more durable than plaiting bands too.... very tempted to get some black and white ones if they exist as they are extremely cheap!!

I have to say the 'loom bands' I have are not as durable as plaiting bands, they are 'silicony' and very stretch, so I have snapped a few trying to make plaits, cost wise I am not sure either, brought a bag for £1, I have a huge tub of plaiting bands that was £3. Plaiting bands are not really stretchy enough to go over my podgy fingers to make bracelets!

I am wearing 2 and the dogs have one each and the horses too are now proud owners of them dangling on their head collars!

I too wish I had come up with macramé plaiting bands!

Yes.. when the craze started and all my friends were obsessed I just commented on how they would make lovely plaiting bands and got disapproving looks. :)

I know, I know. Mean aunty.

I did put up with the 'make over' that made me look like I had two black eyes and left me covered in sparkles for days though. I do also treasure all the drawings and arts and crafts stuff that she makes me. She is definitely an adored niece!

i wandered why the huge range of bright plaiting bands - then learnt about these look bands. i have also heard of the loss of fingers on a couple of toddlers. i was offered a bracelet by someone who found it too tight, but politely refused it

When the craze came to my school the first one I saw was a black and white bracelet and honestly thought someone had gone and gotten some plaiting bands! Was very surprised to see them in multi colours over the next couple of days!

I'm ONLY 34 and i found out what these were on 6th July. So I've known about them for ages.

I get it but puh'lease ladies and gents, keep it kid-side. I cant stand seeing a loom band on older people especially at work. It does make me respect my seniors much less as my manager seems to have half a dozen on each side... he has to see customers I think... then I see customers with and I just roll my eyes discreetly.

I'll just shut up now. And go away.
