Loose horse on motorway

Has anyone heard anything about this? One of my friends was driving back from Glasgow and there was a horse & trap (with no driver) going full tilt along the M8 with another trying to catch it.

I can't imagine how it can possibly have ended well.

There's been ... nothing. At all. On the news, radio, internet ... nothing. Very strange, you'd think something like that would have been reported somewhere.
