Am prob not in the right place for this question, but just wanted opinions on what people thought of loose schooling/jumping young horses?????

In what way?
Most SJ/event studs will loose jump their youngsters (from weaning on) a couple of times a year maybe, to assess their potential and determine which are 'sellers' and which are 'keepers', and sometimes for the competitions.
As long as the surface is good, the jumps safe, and the youngstock sound, I have no problem with it.

As said above depends in what way.

From rising 3 about once a month for Chancer has done a couple of jumps in the school - starting at 1' and he has just done 2' recently. He finds it great fun and is learning to balance himself and sort out his legs. He also does pole work every other week for a short period.

He is always on a good surface and comes in nice and steady.

I plan to start doing ridden jumping next year when he rising 5 but will probably start to add a little more height this autumn up to 2'6.

I would not wanted to have him jump any younger, but he can really leap round the field naturally and has done so from 16 months.
