I bought this thinking it would work miracles getting my horse to mouth up and relax in his mouth but to be honest I didnt notice any difference at all to my other loose ring lozenge bits but then we have had a bit of an issue with bits.
I use this bit for all youngsters that I break - but oddly enough my older neds are not in it. It did suit my 1st pony that I had very well. It is a comfy bit for them and it doesnt allow them to hang
It's what I ride my horse in & I really like it for several reasons:
1) He can't lean on it as easily as an eggbutt & he can't block against it.
2) He naturally works in a low frame, this bit is the best Ive used that helps him shift weight behind.
3) It suits his fleshy mouth.
4) helps him mouth up.
5) He struggles to lean on one side.
6) costs a tenner
I would really recommend it.
PS if you buy it consider getting a size bigger as my horse needed a size up from his normal bit.
I restarted both my exracers in it - they accepted it fine and it helped get them nice and foamy and soft - I have now swapped them to Neue Schule bits though, one needed slightly more breaks than a loose ring could offer and the other works better in a hanging cheek... wouldnt use anything otehr than a lozenge mouthpiece though.
