I had an amazing loose schooling session with Daisy tonight. It was only the second time I've ever tried it but she was really good, listening to me and giving transitions on a vocal command. It was lovely to see her move and hopefully it should help her build up her fitness and suppleness as she comes back from injury.
Tonight she was cantering lovely 20m circles around me, impressive for a horse that until a few weeks ago hadn't been lunged for nearly 2 years so its not like she's programmed to running in a circle, she just seemed happy to be at that distance.
Can anyone tell me how you move onto the more advanced things in loose schooling? We can do a lovely circle and change of direction but I know that some people in here do fancy things like serpentines and figures of eights and I can't begin to imagine how you do that. I just want to keep it nice and varied for her because she's really clever and I want her to keep finding it fun while developing her fitness and suppleness
