Hi!
My youngster usually has good and healthy looking stools. However, these past two days it's been loose with some outline of defined balls. It's the same colour.
He is his usual self, no diet has been changed. Only difference is a slight change in his work.
Any ideas what it could be? Or whether it is best to call out a vet.

My horse used to literally pour fluid from his bottom sometimes, sounded like someone had dropped a bucket of water on the floor. The vet said that when the absorption of water in the colon is disrupted it can cause loose droppings. Something to do with the flora in the gut and the hind gut function also changes the consistency of the manure.

If it comes on suddenly in certain situations it is caused by stress or anxiety i.e. a horse will produce a large amount of loose droppings when loaded onto a trailer. But if it comes on slowly its normally to do with hindgut activity.

You could try pink powder to improve the horse gut function and I think Yeasacc can improve hind gut function too.
