Lorries - How fast?

Just wondering how fast people drive a lorry with horse onboard - on the motorway?

I was a passenger in a lorry with one horse on recently. Driver going at 65mph on the motorway. It did feel fast and I was getting pretty nervous.

I stick to 50mph on the motorway as wouldn't feel safe going any faster.

My sister can get 60 out of hers (it hasn't got a restricter (sp) on it) But mine can only do 45, 50 at a push (it's very old).

Keep mine around 55 on motorway, not good to push old engines! And always worry about getting a blowout!

had a blowout in old lorry going to the Cotswolds, fortunately it was one of the back ones but still shook us up!

Ours is limited to 57/58mph so thats what we do usually on the motorways

Have you ever had a front tyre blow out/ If you have the experience will no doubt teach you to keep to a sensible maximun speed of no more than 60 miles per hour on the motorway.

If we're going down hill with the wind behind us I might do 60

otherwise about 55mph on the motorway.
