I am looking for a 7.5 ton lorry and have seen one I like. It doesnt have a cut through but does have CCTV into the horse area.

What are the pros and cons of having a cut through? Its a tilt cab so is that why it doesnt have one?

Exciting but scary time!

You are quite near me? Private sale or dealer? I bought a few months ago with no cut thru but with camera. Make model etc? I am just interested.

Pros of cut thru-
You can access horses and living in transit
If you have more passengers than seats it's more sociable
Living is lighter

Cons
It's is absolutely freezing driving in the winter even with the heater on
Colder in living in the winter
Noisier all the time

I drove and viewed both and would go for no cut through every time unless you take loads of friends with you.
But I do like the video cam - but happily used my old lorry for 15 years with neither
And it is exciting!
Good luck

Forgot to mention your mechanic will like the tilt cab so that saves you money! If you want someone to do the mechanics who is 200% trustworthy PM me. He would do the inspection too but is very picky but better to know before you buy

^^^^^^ exactly what Mandyroberts said.

I have cut through but would happily give it up for warmth, the ability to actually hear the CD's playing on the very expensive CD player. I do like seeing/hearing the horses tho' but guess would be the same with camera (as long as you don't stare at the camera rather than the road :D)

Hi Mandy
Its private sale, MAN, built for BIG horses and looks good on the page, going to see it for real tomorrow. If I think its a real pos I have a great mechanic who will go and check it out for me.

I recently had my horsebox body put onto a newer chassis and didn't think the extra expense of cutting a hole in the back of the cab was worth it so blocked the cut through up.

As well as above its also more secure & no nasty smells :)

A cut through doesn't stop the cab tilting, it depends how its designed.

A friend has a massive lorry for his 2 gorgeous Percherons - he doesn't have and don't want a cut through as he doesn't want the smell of their poo in the cab. So some people may argue that this is a con of a cut through.
