Also in Tack Room but would be good to hear any recommendations from locals!

Can anybody recommend a reliable lorry breakdown/recovery company? We're currently with NFU after hearing endless good reviews, but after waiting at the side of a busy road for 5 1/2 hours in the dark in below freezing temperatures before being rescued we don't have an awful lot of faith in them any more!!
We're in Shropshire, not sure whether our location has anything to do with the length of time it took for someone to rescue us (perhaps we're miles from anyone?!) We have a 7.5t lorry and it would need to be a company who would also arrange to transport the horses somewhere safe if history repeats itself and the lorry can't move any further by itself.

Thank you x

We are with the HBTO - think it's the horse box and trailer owners association- not had to use them as yet, but we are also with the AA and you get a discount with HBTO a if you are a current AA member too

Have a word with the CLA. I think they are agents but they now do all my insurance and I am very happy with them (which is a surprise coming from me as I am a habitual grumbler). I do occasionally shop around but haven't found anything to compare, both for price and service. Maybe I have them running scared?:)

Equine Rescue Services. They always arrange fresh horse transport if you've broken down and can't be fixed by the roadside. They will call you back regularly to keep you informed and they operate nationwide.
