lorry cut through

would be mercedes atego, would the 6k be for a full size cut through (i.e.walk through from cab to living) or for a hatch type cut through?

Just after rough costs as looking for a lorry for the coming season and wondering how much it would be to put a cut through in a lorry that has everything else perfect!

cost depends whether you are cutting through and adding a luton. and whether you are cutting through to a rigid cab or a tilt cab. best to phone some horsebox builders/converters i think. i paid 3k for a cut through with a luton front put on a rigid cab, though this was 9 years ago.

omg! i paid 2kish for a full interior refit to my 3.5t VW, including cut through to cab, all new internal walls, roof insulated and lined, full wall carpeting, new cupboards with integrated sink and cooker, new flooring, removable table, lighting fitted, horse area fully lined, ramp resurfaced... and a real professional finish, not a cheap job at all.
I'm in Cheshire, pm me if you want their details.. x

£6000? That seems a lot, be easier to buy a lorry already with a cut through

Echo I was quoted around £500-£700 In the end as I travel alone so no one could go through the gap while driving I decided to go for cctv which is going to cost less then £100 instead. Also I need to stay warm and it is harder with a cut through

Oh dear, how to put this as may sound a tad know it all :o i really do appoligse if it does!!
Dad just looked over my shoulder and saw this and imediatly(sp) said, Walk through on an Merc atego is impossible as the floor is raised in the middle as over the engine, same as ours as this replaced the 814.
then went on to say ... he would never go for a lorry with a cut through as reduces strenght of cab and if the lorry has a tilt cab you loose the tilt cab so nion impossible to get to the engine easily .......

ETA .... dad is a HGV fitter before anyone moans and groans!

Sorry dont know how much but my last lorry had a 'crawl through' and also retained the tilt cab as it had no luton. My new lorry which is an old one has full cut through, luton with bed and also full tilt cab. It tilts through a flap you lift on the front of the luton.

Im going to moan and groan!!!:D You can have a cut thru in a atego and all bigger lorrys have a engine hump!!! and no you dont loose the tilt either... Im not a fan of cut through's however I can see the point if you have more than two passingers or a family useing it, and yes it must weaken the cab I would say a camera in the horse area is much better if you want to know whats going on back there ...

its possible to put a crawl through in most cabs, and if done in the right way you don't lose the strength in the cab.
price depends on what body is on your chassis. and what has to be cut away.
if you like pm me some pics and i will try to give you a rough price on how much it
would cost.
it is possible as i've done many a crawl through as i build hoseboxes for a living.

£1500 not a bad price JVB but with all jobs on horseboxes the price differs from vehicle to vehicle, but if you've got 3 prices around the same your on to a winner.
if you've got some photos MiaBella that will help a lot.

just so there is no confusion I'm not here to look for jobs just to help anyone with
any questions i maybe able to answer.
