Lorry Oil - what type?

My dad needs to top the oil up in the lorry, but he's not sure what to use. Is it just normal car oil or does he need 'special' oil??

has to be heavy diesel lorry if your lorry is diesel.

Think you need special diesel oil not car oil used in petrol engine

Do you know if I can get it from halfords?

My OH says Halfords do a diesel oil for cars which will be fine for a lorry!!

You need a heavy oil which most HGV garages will have-it is much thicker than car oil.

Go to a Commercial dealer-anyone will do DAF, VOLVO, Scania etc and get some.
