Me again with another partition related query. has anyone made their own partition pads? In my old box i had some really soft (too soft for stable flooring) EVA matting screwed onto the partitions which was a decent solution. but i bought them second hand and have no idea where to find the same again. i am handy so can make stuff from vinyl/foam which seems to be common. what kind of foam though?

I bought some foam (high) online, cut to size. I am pretty sure I went for 2". Then I covered it in upholstery vinyl and backed it with thin ply wood. I needed them for a twin stalled 3.5t lorry, so needed four of these, so by the time you multiplied them up, they were quite expensive to make tbh - I seem to remember I spent about £200 for all the bits.

I've had a quick look online and there are some eBay listings for partition padding. I haven't used them, but perhaps worth contacting?

ah! good find. i was looking at that company's website but struggling to get an idea of pricing from there, didn't think of checking ebay for them. yeah it might be economical to buy from them. i will do some sums. i have 3 partitions in my box but would only need 5 pads as the far side just has saddles etc.

Also, how about the high density interlocking floor tiles used in gyms, and for garage flooring etc? If you went for the thicker type would that give the horses which protection?

yeah maybe. i had sort of assumed we'd do thicker squishy pads but actually that could work well and would also deaden the sound a bit i guess as they would be bigger. not too heavy either. thanks - will add to the list of possibles.
