Lorry Plating - exhaust brakes?

Just had our S reg Iveco lorry plated which passed and was told it was in good order but were advised that next time the exhaust brake must be in working order.

Apparently this a new thing for this year, and only advisory just now.

I wasn't aware our lorry had an exhaust brake! Where best to sort that one out?

This is an old thread (does one post count as a thread?) but it has just come up with a friend who had her box fail its plating because the exhaust brake wasn't working. However I took my 7.5 ton last week and it sailed through despite the exhaust brake being completely seized up and the foot button being broken and invisible under a pile of dust.

Any info from anyone on this one?
