lorry plating mot

just been looking at the vosa website and i am very confused, new to the lorry owning stuff and i need to sort out the mot/plate. i am based in leicestershire melton mowbray side. the vosa site says i have book ahead but no idea of where to book ahhhhhhhhh what else do i need todo
 
And phone up tomorrow and book it as there is roughly a national 4 - 6 week waiting list at the moment....

Also the plate runs to the end of the month. So if you book it in on 30th may it will run out 31st May 08, but if you book it in for the 1st June it runs out 30th june 08
 
Oh lord I suppose I'd better check to see when my test is due so I can book her in. I find it utterly nerve wracking! I THINK it's the end of July.
 
I phoned 2 weeks ago and the first test I could get in Bristol was 1st june, but I managed to get a test mid may at another station. Really annoying as we are trying to sell the lorry, but can't until it is plated
 
thats very true DD, many stations are at least now looking at week 3 in May, when you ring up the testing station ask if the have any out of hours tests available, they usually offer these on a tues & thurs evening after 4pm till 6 pm and also sat morning until 1pm for an additional fee ( about £30.00 more) , we always book ours out of hours as there is no queue and its much easier to get a qucik test date.
