Ok after some much needed advice again please?
My lorry - 7.5 ton D reg ford cargo. comfortably takes 2 large horses and all kit. nice and tidy inside and out, double wooden floor, rubber matting and stockboards. adjustable partitions. living, bed over luton, seating with storage underneath, fridge, sink, hob, cupboards. large cupboard with shelves and 3 saddle racks inside, bridle and coat hooks. reliable runner and happily does 50mph on motorway.
How much would you expect to get for a trade in? Have seen a box I like, test driven it tonight and had the boys in it, very nice lorry and drives lovely, just what I want but the chap has offered me less for mine than I would like. So do I take a lower amount for my box as a trade in or try to sell it seperately? Much needed advice please?

Depends how much less. You could always put an advert in horsemart halfway between the difference and you would probably sell it by the weekend.

How long have you got?

Well he's offered £3k which I thought was a bit low. Could I advertise it and add photos later? don't know how long I've got but I do know no one else is interested in the lorry at the moment.
New one is lovely, R reg, plenty of space for boys and gear, large living, luton, sofa that turns into double bed, cut through cab etc................... decisions decisions. How easy is it to place ad on horsemart?

Unless you had a fab living, metal floor, tilt cab, w/c and everything working and not grubby, you would be lucky to get more than 4-5k

Parts are hard to get for Ford Cargo's and it sounds like yours hasn't got much guts (I test drove a G reg at the weekend, which got up to 60 mph easily on hilly roads unladen! )

I sold my J reg Cargo, stalled for 3 with smart living and tilt cab etc. for £5,500. Depends on the condition of your lorry really. But good luck, new one sounds nice!

mmm so what do people reckon to his offer then? fair bearing in mind I get rid of it quick or do I stick it on horsemart and if so for how much?

Is it pretty? i.e. coachbuilt and a bit shiney!
If so then you'd probably get circa £4k for it

So depends whether you want the extra hassle for £1k, and then you could still risk holding on to it for a while.

If its rusty, or looking tired, I would consider the offer

not sure if its coachbuilt but it was only painted outside last year and inside this year so looks smart. oh I hate haggling etc

Ah its not coachbuilt (flat outside), which seems to devalue

This may or may not help:

This J reg lorry: eBay link got sold for £4k and a dealer bought it and is selling on for £5,995 (So say £5k to make £1k profit)

I was a bit cross as the lorry was in Bicester and I wasn't quick enough to view!!

so does £3k seem an ok trade in then?
What price for a leyland daf R reg, very good condition inside and out. stalled for 3 large horses, rug rack, light ramp etc. luton with bed, sofa that goes to double bed, cut through cab, cooker and grill, hob, sink and fridge, lots of cupboards. skirt lockers?

Lorries are a mixed bag!!

Depends whether you are happy with £3k - Probably hinges on the state of your living and extras.

I've been visting horsemart, horsequest, H&H, eBay and my local tack stores hunting lorries. Hence my new knowledge on prices!!

R reg Leyland - if alloy body like yours probably should be £10-14k depending on area. If look on horsequest there is a T reg Leyland now sold, that was advertised for 12k

If coachbuilt they tend to be around £12- £16k. £16k is upper limit and should be all singing (flat tv etc) for that!
