As we really aren't finding much that appeals to us in our horsebox search we are toying with the idea of a self build......dad knows of a ten year old daf for sale (he is a HGV machanic and class one driver do we know its in good condition) for a very good price how much would it cost/ can you give me advice about getting a body put on it?

How much would you think we would need to get it done?

Thankies

It depends how far you want to go remember the box bit is the most expensive part, so
unless dad wants to put a fair bit of time into it I would buy something done, but if you just want to carry horses and would be happy with a sensible basic box I guess your best bet would be start with a GRP boxvan and get it converted But be very carefull its sound and remember there are a lot of dubious bodgers and idiots that will promise the earth take your money and leave you disapointed!!!! , I would budget about £10k+ and the boxvan...

You shoud be able to buy a basic container to go on your chassis cab for £2-3000, i've sometimes seen them on Ebay. You can go on forever fitting it out and spraying it but I know people who've done more work as and when they had the money, the main thing is having the basic box to travel your horses then do jobs as and when
