I bought a little 3.5t horsebox last year and we have slowly been refurbing it....i say slowly as it was due an MOT not long after we bought it and OMG was it a big un!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-O Needless to say the rest of the refurb has had to wait and taken longer than expected. However we are 75% there
The lorry now has full MOT and Tax, has had the ramp moved to the side (instead of the back), been completely reboarded inside, had windows installed and the original air vents/holes blocked up (it didnt have windows, just cut outs all along the top of the box), breast bar and partition have been designed and tacked together, just need to finish these off plus the loading doors and then board them up and order the paddinng.
We then have another big job, to uprate the suspension to make it more stable. Lastly we are having a tack locker put in which will sit under the horses head on drivers side. Horses will travel facing forwards, although i will only ever be taking one horse as both my boys are big horses
Am really hoping to have it finished around Easter, ready for the coming show season
Here are a few 'before and after' pics All the work (apart from the ramp) has been done by myself and my OH (mailny the OH! lol). We had a proper horsebox builder to change the ramp.
