No experience on lorries, but a new gearbox (even a recon one) will set you back well over a grand in a car....I have experienced it twice would you believe!?

I would say mike 007 is about right.. and there's plenty of old layland road rats and 45s about for parts they are worth about what they weigh so shop round the breakers you should easly get a box for less than £500 then it depends on how the lorry is built if the cab tilts its a 4 hour job max non tilt at least double
