As title , Ive googled, and looked over past topics, but everything seems to say differant so looking for personal experience really

I am aware a cat C is a similar price to a C1, but realistically im never in a million years going to drive more than a 7.5 tonne, so I have concluded I would feel happier taking the test in something smaller, and also after research have decided C1 will be easier to take due to gearbox differances.

Now cost. Ive been quoted £1200 all inclusive from a company, that included everything, medical, theory costs, 4 days training and test. And that was on a package tailored to horsebox drivers as opposed to general LGV training. Sounded good to me, but want to have a good look round and weigh up all my options before I come to a decision.

Just looking for general advice really, how much did it cost yo to get through your test, anything to look out for, any good offers, and finally if anyone knows of any good training centres in the yorkshire region that would be an amazing help.

Many Thanks

Hi,i did my ttaining through a broker it cost £1300 in all but had to trvel MILES to a trainer.they said at the time they had a centre in my nearest town but when it came to booking the training after theory test had been done it had suddenly closed down.ihad to find a training centre for them as noone would deal with them and he would have done it for £700!theory,medical and cpc would not have cost an extra £600.you are better calling up local instructors imo.also i dod my c1 u never know when u might want part time driving work to earn cash,i dont know aboit ur area but wer i did it there was only one examiner who was an arse and didnt like "part time truckers" i was advised to say i wanted to drive for a living and not just transport my horses a few times a month!the gear box is easy u only really use lower box to pull away, then its just like a car gear box.theres nothing to it!!good luck its a great feeling to know u can just drive urself places!
