Has anyone taken their lorry test (C1 I think) by doing less than the 5 day course with test on 5th day?

OH has had quote for £1097 to do the 5 day course - same company he did trailer test with so know they are good. He is however a lorry mechanic so can drive a lorry etc, just needs to be taught the how to pass the test bit!!

He is calling to book the assesment today and enquire about if they think he can get away with less days etc - to bring cost down.

But has anyone passed without doing the full 5 day course?!

Thanks

Hi if you are going to do the test do the full Cat C not C1 as that then allows you to duver any rigid not just a 7 1/2 tonne version could be more useful in long run. Sorry did mine over 5 days not sure you could do it in much less as you need to learn routes and test procedure as well and you only get about 3 1/2 hous driving each day as its usually shared tuition.
Good luck and let us know how he got on.
