Has anyone noticed that they have gone up again to £95 - from reading a VOSA mag today it seems that the funding of enforcement of operators licences are not now being paid out of the operators licence fees but out of test fee, hence two big increases in two years. Pleased I paid for mine before it went up.

On which subject, following on from the article in H & H and on here about the maximum height for side clearance....ours was measured very closely today at test. It complied which it should do, the legislation having been in place for years and the lorry having been tested at the same station for a number of years, but it does go to show that the inspectors have been told to look more closely at side clearance heights.

Yes VOSA are trying to encourage more people to have operator licenses, and spread the cost of enforcement on everyone,(rather than those that are trying to comply).I got a cheque from VOSA today as a refund. So a big thankyou to all those dodgy horsebox owners who claim to be private and run as a business. You now help pay for my operator license. Hope you all get caught soon.
