Pros/cons? I have a lorry, and love it most of the time - but HATE the month a year it takes for parts to arrive to get anything fixed so we're then off the road for at least that long. Our lorry is 20 years old, and runs very sweetly, good on diesel etc - yet given its age, the parts have to pretty much be made when we order anything major, and every year something wears out.
We originally got a lorry rather than a trailer because it can take 3, is safer if something ploughs into the back, in high winds, on motorway etc. Currently feeling very miserable as haven't even been able to get to lessons for a month now (and part still not arrived), it's going to cost at least £400 in total (again - last year was £600 for various bits and bobs), and we're probably going to get a 4x4 in the near future anyway.
So - how bad are trailers really? OH has towed one before (for a friend), reversed, parked etc without trouble, but our main concerns are theft, stability and overall safety. I'm increasingly fed up of not being able to get out for weeks each year, and £££ to fix whatever is required for the very expensive plating, on top of insurance, tax etc. I do love my lorry though...
