Does this sound feed related to you?

elderly 14.2hh gets 3 round scoops of chaff and 3 round scoops of soaked sugar beet shreds. twice a day.

He's got very (don't mean to go into detail but watery) lose droppings....

just a thought that maybe he's getting too much? He is fed this amount as he can't eat hay.

How long as he been getting that feed? It could be too much twice a day is not keeping him working inside consistently

Of course I could be talking rubbish but my first thought would be to split the feeds in to more feeds per day

Thanks both.

He can't eat hay, it's always put out for him but he never touches it. He is old and just can't manage it anymore.

I'm thinking maybe to swap the sugar beet for fast fibre?? He's been on current feed routine about a month maybe a bit longer.

I think fast fibre is mainly sugar beet .
I think you should get some professional advice .
When where the horses teeth last checked ?
