Lost dog

He isn't, but I know him. He's a relative of mine and we're like a family in the Tamaskan community, so it's like we've lost one of our own.
He's a sweetheart, we saw him on the dogs trust website and managed to secure him. Breeder has a contract which states they must go back to her if owner can no longer have them, it was broken when they sent him to the DT. I went with the breeder to pick him up and he's so lovely, I wish I could have taken him on, but one dog is enough for me at the moment!
Owner is lovely and beside herself with worry, a bad mistake which could happen to anyone :(
I was hoping to go and look for him today, but with this wind, I don't want to risk Tamriel or myself. Hoping to go at the weekend

How heartbreaking :( I see he was lost in quite a rural area too - and with ewes in lamb, as well as gamekeepers around it would worry me greatly. Do you know if he is likely to chase sheep (as he chased off after deer). Am I right to assume that he doesn't really know the area either, if he has been recently rehomed? The poor owner. I would be beside myself in her position.

Just a little off topic, but is the Tamaskan a recognised breed, and what went into its make up? I love all the wolfy looking types and have a FB friend who breeds Czechoslovakian Vlcak (not in the UK) and they are stunning dogs. What is the Tamaskan temperament like?

I really hope your friend's dog is found quickly and in good health very soon. I have liked her FB page and have shared.

what a lovely dog, I am normally a small dog lover but he is smashing.
Our dog Bandit got lost once and we put posters up over as many lamp posts as we could in thelocal community.we also let the feed merchants know and they put our adverts up oon there boards.

He is likely to chase sheep, but all farmers in the area have been notified. He's only been with them about a month, so he's very new and won't know the area. I feel so useless, but until the weekend, I can't do an awful lot :(
I remember how scared I was when Ned ran off and he was only missing a few hours, this poor dog has been gone since Sunday!

Tamaskan is a recognised breed, but not by the KC. It's mostly GSD and Husky/Malamute, but some other bits and bobs (that I can't remember) are in there too.
Temperament varies, but mostly they are loving, intelligent and athletic dogs. However they are sensitive with a high prey drive. Tamriel is so over the top loving to people she knows and likes, but is very frightened of strangers due to my ex. It was a scary time for both of us and I'm absolutely furious that it's made her into the dog she is.
We often have group meet-ups and it's great to see the "wolves" all running about together :D

Thanks for the like and share!

I hope he is soon found. If you saw him in with your sheep you would think you had gone back in time! So wolf like.

I hope he is found soon, don't know if there are any local farmer's groups/pages on FB but might be worth joining and posting there if not already.

Don't give up hope, a Spanish GSD rescue legged it out of a car near to me last year. Lots of sightings locally but noone could catch her-she was too scared. She was finally found 6 weeks later and a good 40 miles away-a bit the worse for wear but nothing bad.

Thanks everyone! Farmers are aware and they had a tracker dog out yesterday, he seems to be coming back to around the car park, but they blend in so well!
He's entire, so a breeder friend is taking an in season female to see if that'll lure him out. When he made a short stop at his breeders house, he was going wild for her females! So fingers crossed!

Can they leave blanket or piece of clothing that smells of his owners at the car park alongside a bowl of water and food? I have heard of this working before if he keeps coming back to the same car park.
