I recently sold some equestrian items on eBay. All have arrived at destination bar one. I have proof of postage but who is responsible for claiming off post office? Do I give it to buyer or do I refund money and claim myself? Not sure what to do.

Actually, it's the seller's responsibility to make sure the item is delivered, and sort it out if it doesn't arrive. You need to refund them and claim back the cost of the item yourself, as it is you who had the contract with the delivery company :)

Post Office lost one of my Ebay parcels recently. I refunded the buyer, got the claim form from the Post Office and sent it off with a copy of the listing, proof of postage and paypal payment. The buyer cooperated with the post office and I got my money back, sadly in stamps as it only totalled around £6. Takes about a month.

I had a similar experience a few months ago and I refunded the purchaser then claimed from the Post Office. It took about 6/8 weeks to get my money back.

Claiming from the PO is a real pain in the ar$e! For the future i'd recommend sending everything recorded, the PO are more likely to make sure it arrives and it stops buyers making fraudulent claims to get their money back and receive the item for free!
I won't send anything out without a signature anymore!

Sadly though, its your responsibility to sort it, if they open an ebay/paypal case against you paypal will simply take the money from you, rubbish I know but they are the rules.
