Lost our old boy

Our old boy has just gone off to the kennels. He was my sisters horse but I've cared for him for the past 4yrs, I didn't think I'd be as upset as I am but I'm feeling very low now

Didn't realise how much he mean to me/us, he's nannied all of our youngstock and even tho he was a pain in the a*se and a moody git at times I'm going to miss him so much!!

I know, we've had him for years and years - amazing how you get so attatched, even when Archie got too much for Jen we put him in with her and he took Archie off to 'baby-sit'!

Damn Colic, wish there was a cure

he'd been down with it since last night but looked much better this morning(poor sister slept in his stable with him), vet said his stomach had begun to die off

Mixed blessing - at least quite quick. Easier I think than watching an oldie progressively go more and more down hill.... Hope tomorrow/tues gives you something to look forward to and cheer up about though. Unless it's rainng buckets I will come down.

Yes you're right, he was quite an age, still, he looked in alot of pain with the colic.

Oh I hope it doesn't rain buckets, I can't cope with mud with one open toe boot

I turned around out cubbing yesterday morning and stood splat in a cow pat with the open toe boot

not impressed!

I am sorry.I don't usually know what to say with this type of post but having lost our clyde mare to colic on friday I can say I know how you feel. She could be a bargy old bat at times too. I guess its those characteristics that we miss. Chin up.
