Freddie has been lost since yesterday morning when bring walked by a dog sitter as his owner was flying off to New York. She is desperately trying to get home as Freddie won’t approach strangers.
Many thanks

Have to say I'm with those who would want anyone with an opportunity to catch it to do so - I've nabbed (other peoples) lost rabbits & cats by hand on occasion to get them into safer situations - a toy poodle ought to be worth a shot, surely?

He has been found. I know the owner and she was absolutely devastated, she is still flying back home tonight (at a cost of £8000 for the family) so will probably go on record as having the shortest NY break ever.

…….. , she is still flying back home tonight (at a cost of £8000 for the family) …….. .

Eight Grand for the whole family to fly home because the dog's gone missing? Have they taken leave of their senses? :D :D

Now don't get me wrong, I understand that for some their animals take on a greater level of importance than humans …. but that beggars belief!!:D

Alec.

Lol, Alec, I thought that too, if the dog was lost I can understand it but he has been found!

Flights were booked before he was found and I suspect if they had cancelled and rebooked at s later date would have cost even more as I know they couldn't transfer original flights . I suppose whole family had to fly back otherwise they wouldn't have been together for Christmas .
If , god forbid , I was in this situation I would try and fly back but at least there would only be one fare to worry about .

I'm not quite sure as to how he got lost, think the dog sitter was a friend . He's a fairly special little dog , ownet has done film and tv work with her dogs , was on Britsins got talent last year !

Now it has been found I do feel I can agree with Tiddlypom's icon - I wouldn't just be flying back, I'd not be leaving with that sitter in the first place!

You could buy a new Poodle pup for £1000! I wonder if the dog/house/whatever sitter will get paid — :D

Alec.

I don't think that is altogether the point!
I see why my BIL puts his dogs into kennels, they hate it and it costs him a fortune but at least they are safe. Luckily we never go away, and if we do (chance would be a fine thing) there are advantages to living next door to both your MIL and your Mother!

On the rare occasions I go away I get someone to move into my house . At least my dogs are on familiar territory .
With regard to whole family flying back , as I said I guess it is because otherwise father and children would be apart from mum for Christmas and they preferred not to do that .

I am also careful where I leave my dog she would hate being walked with a dog walker with loads of other dogs, and some of the few we have round here are always loosing dogs I have found a few and next door have found dogs wandering around in there yard which is a major worry, I to would rather pay for kennels luckily my oh parents have her when we go away and they are so paranoid about loosing her they don't let her off the lead not that she ever runs off anyway but I like the fact they are very careful.
