Lost Shoe now sore?

Hello my horse lost a front shoe last week and has been find since still turnt him out just not riding obviously, but now hes quite sore and not competly lame but you can see hes not quite right, we are trying to get the farrier out asap but the earlyest so far is the 5th (still have others to try) but just was wondered what i could do to make him less sore til i can get a farrier out? wasnt planning on turning him out tomorrow but anything else i could do/give him?

only thing you could do really is put a hoof boot on it. You can get some that they wear in the field.

You should be very wary of using hoof boots for turnout, they can cause horrible rubbing if your horse is thin skinned or they don't fit perfectly or they get mud/sand inside them.

I would be careful only to use the word poltice when it's actually needed as some people may interpret it literally and stick a hot poltice on!
