So when you move house, move yards and sell a car all in the space of two weeks, something's gonna give.... and turns out it's the keys for my trailer lock!

I've got wheel clamp/pincer style locks on two wheels of my trailer. Went to move it today (not using it due to broken horse) and realised I have no idea where the keys are. Gut feeling is that my OH chucked them out when he took all the rubbish out my car when it sold.

Has anyone ever been so daft and found replacement keys?! Or am I going to have try to find a metal saw and just cut them off my wheels?

In no rush really... but the trailer's for sale and I'd rather have it freed and ready to go just in case someone buys it!

Not ideal but when my trailer was stolen they just drove off and left the clamp on the ground. I also once set off without removing the clamp, no damage to the trailer, obviously the clamp is still locked 😐

The pincer type are usually quite easy to remove with a crowbar. To be honest it is probably cheaper just to break it off than to try to get replacement keys for it. But if you want to try for replacement keys there should be a serial number on the barrel (if it is still visible!) to enable you to get a new key.

Of course as soon as you have either broken it off or shelled out for a new key the old ones will turn up......

Fortunately I'd made a note of the key number for my bulldog clamp So I contacted them and bought new keys for IIRC about £7 each

Thanks Shay, was hoping someone would say it's easy to break them off. If the serial number is on the barrel then I should be able to find that... but if just snapping it off works then that'll option number one (although not so good I guess if someone was attempting to steal it!)
