What is the comfiest saddle you’ve ever sat in, ideally modern. I appreciate that it has to fit the horse (short backed and round barrel shape and has a mattes u shaped girth, small whithers, huge shoulders).

It has to be either a gp or jump/event saddle as I’m going to be doing far more hacking and some hunting this coming season but i need to be very comfortable. That’s not me being a princess it’s just I’ve not sat in a saddle and thought wow for a good few years now and would like to. And I’m going to do second hand (he currently has a gp so no rush).

So what saddles are you in that make you happy? Cheers

This is an exceptionally personal question as what works for one person will not work for another, unfortunately.
I’m currently finding an old falcon event saddle great, but as an example I have sat in a variety of different bates saddles and am yet to find one which I find comfortable yet many people love them!

Probably my Ideal saddle that I bought for Lari. Sat in in about 12 times all in all. But whilst I sat on top of it, holding on for grim death I must admit it did feel nice.
Ha ha this is the sort of review I’m after! Brilliant 🤣

I didn’t love Bates either and although I own one I don’t like Kent and masters either 😬. Fairfax ok, saddle
Company, terrible. To my shame I always look at the parelli fluidity saddle and think it looks so comfy and the bliss saddles.

Albion's are awful for me and every yard seems to have one when I'm trying a horse to buy !

The comfiest for me are the Black Country Wexford, my GFS Monarch and Jeffries F1 jump.

I bought a horse years ago that came with a Stubben and I have never been in so much pain in my entire life!

OP I like Albions and (whispers it quietly) Wintecs seem to be quite comfortable for a synthetic option.

After trying a horse equipped with a stubben I had to carry a cushion around for a week. It felt as though my seat bones had been ground down with a stump grinder!
I bought the horse though.

Barnsby 7 series omega 720 event saddle

Best saddle I ever had in over 60 years of horse ownership. Deep seated so helps to keep you secure, padded seat so can ride on it for hours ,loved it and was distraught when it was stolen

My WOWs are the comfiest I have ever sat on!

Me too, if you get the right one.

One of my WOW saddles is lovely - the other I'm on the fence about. Same seat on both so it's really dependent on so, so many factors

Some of them are padded higher across the middle and I find the ones where I can't get my middle finger to reach the flap on one side and my thumb on the other are excruciating to sit on. The shallow seats are often a problem for this.
