Have seen a few posts on here about horses with itchy skin, bites and blocked hair follicles so I thought I would tell you about this stuff .
My horse is a mild sweet itch and on top of this she came up with big lumps all over the area she wasn't clipped on, mainly the saddle area and rump. I bathed her in a neem based shampoo, but if anything I think they got worse !!
I used a shampoo on her last year that didn't need to be rinsed off, but for the life of me I could not remember what it was called but i went to my local tack shop to have a rake around and see if I could find anything similar to it and found this love the skin wash. As it is still a bit on the cold side here rather than a bath I decided to hot cloth her with this stuff and the lumps got smaller over night, and she didn't try to rub her tail out last night
I am very impressed with it, I really went for it when I was rubbing, put my back into it so to speak, using my fingers through the cloth and going against the hair. As she wasn't soaked I didn't put a cooler on, I just let her dry au natural and then made sure she wasn't over rugged for the night.
So today when I went up to see to her I gave her another wash with it and she was not itchy at all even though she had to be rugged up today as it is pouring rain.
Im so relieved that the lumps are going as they were unsightly and causing distress and I had visions of her rubbing herself raw. Im not usually one for advocating products but this stuff has seriously impressed me to the point that I'm going to stock up on it and insist she is washed down with it after every ride if it keeps her this comfortable.
Anyway I thought I would let you all know...a product that works..well for me anyway...and no I do not work for the company who make it.
